What is Tally.NET?
On a broad level, Tally.ERP 9 comprises of:
- The product itself
- A set of capabilities (enabled via the Internet) by a service called Tally.NET
This ‘two component’ architecture was chosen as this delivers a high set of flexible and cost effective services to be delivered to you.
When I buy a Tally.ERP 9 license, what do I get?
You will get a permanent license to the product Tally.ERP 9 and a one-year subscription to Tally.NET.
When I take Tally.ERP 9 on rent, what do I get?
You get to use Tally.ERP 9 and Tally.NET for the complete rental period.
What is this Tally.NET anyway?
The Internet is now widely available, reliable and affordable to businesses and people on the move. Tally believes that this allows us to now offer a set of increasingly powerful services and capabilities, under the umbrella of Tally.NET, to get your business ‘connected’ and to leverage the many advantages of the Internet.
Some of these services are:
Remote access services
Field force automation*
Online banking and reconciliation*
Collaborative e-commerce*
Data Synchronisation
Access to the latest product and statutory updates
While some of these services will require you to have a current paid-up subscription to Tally.NET services, several services will also be available without the need for the subscription:
Account management – single and multi site
Access Tally.ERP 9 via SMS from mobile*
Online exams (to help recruitment)*
Online help and support, with central visibility for your enterprise
* Coming Soon. Over time many more features are being planned. Tally reserves the right to move services from free to paid and vice-versa.
Do I need Tally.NET to use Tally.ERP 9?
Like it was stated before, Tally.NET provides additional capabilities and features, that we think will go a long way to help you in your business operations. However you are not obligated to renew your subscription to Tally.NET.
Will Tally.ERP 9 stop working without a current Tally.NET subscription?
No. You will however loose the many benefits of Tally.NET, including access to the latest product & statutory updates.
How much does Tally.NET subscription cost?
This is currently priced at 20% of the product price per year. Therefore, at the present moment, for India, a Tally.ERP 9 Silver subscription to Tally.NET will cost you 20% of Rs 13,500 – Rs 2,700, inclusive of all taxes.
I have several sites under one account. Do I need to subscribe for all sites?
No. The choice is entirely yours.
What about my license activation and management – do I need Tally.NET for this?
No. These will always be part of the free services under Tally.NET – a current subscription is not needed to manage your licenses.
What if I want to subscribe a year later will I have to pay for two years?
No. We do not penalise you or force you to pay for any breaks in your subscription.
Can one single user of Gold subscribe at a lower cost?
No. We do not have a per-user fee and Tally.NET is applicable for the edition as a whole.
I downloaded the latest update of Tally.ERP 9 or the Statutory release and get a message that my subscription has expired…
You can do one of two things – subscribe to Tally.NET online with a credit card, or contact your Tally partner who will help you subscribe. You can alternatively re-install the earlier version of Tally.ERP 9 and continue to use Tally.ERP 9.
is it possible to get the Receipt/Payment vouchers with Signature in Tally ERP System, when i got the payment from the Customer, i have to Sent a Receipt, Currenty i am taking print out and geting the Authorised Signatore and after Scaning the Scaned copy posted to party, can i insert the Signature in Tally

Our company (a private educational institute) is Using the Tally9 software for all of its accounting & financial purposes. Its very efficient and also very practical. unfortunatley there is a minor problem that we face and due ti it we consume alot of time. when the students register for courses they are registered in other system and then again we have to record those same students in the Tally with the number of courses each has taken for the semester. and this goes on and on for each term. please if there is any solution can someone please help me?
